Meet Vena

Founder and Therapist

Vena Cook M.Ed, Licensed Professional Counselor

Welcome. You’ve found a safe space where healing begins and empowerment takes root.
As a therapist and survivor, I understand how layered and personal the journey toward mental wellness can be. My mission is to provide compassionate, culturally responsive care for those navigating trauma, relationship dynamics, and life transitions. This space is designed to honor your unique story, affirm your identity, and support your growth, wherever you are on your path.

About Me
I’m a licensed therapist dedicated to helping individuals move through life’s challenges with clarity, confidence, and self-trust. I bring a trauma-informed, identity-affirming lens to my work, with a deep respect for the diverse experiences people carry , including those shaped by culture, family dynamics, and lived adversity. Whether you're healing from the past, facing a major shift, or simply seeking support, I’m here to walk with you.

Services Offered

Therapy for Childhood Trauma
Our earliest experiences shape how we see ourselves and the world. I help clients explore the lasting impact of childhood trauma including emotional neglect, abuse, and parentification , so they can begin to rewrite the narrative, reconnect with their inner child, and build a sense of safety within.

Toxic Family Recovery
Healing from a dysfunctional or toxic family system is complex, especially when you’ve been cast as the black sheep, peacemaker, or caretaker. Whether you’re considering going low/no contact or still navigating family dynamics, I offer a grounded, nonjudgmental space to process, set boundaries, and reclaim your voice.

Therapy for Anxiety and Depression
Living with anxiety or depression can feel overwhelming, isolating, or even invisible to others. I provide integrative, evidence-based support to help you understand what’s underneath the symptoms, manage day-to-day challenges, and move toward a life that feels more balanced, connected, and whole.

Approach: My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy, authenticity, and cultural competence. I draw from evidence based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, and narrative therapy to tailor treatment plans that resonate with each client's unique needs and experiences. Together, we explore thought patterns, coping mechanisms, and strengths to foster personal growth and resilience.
